NYC Condom Design Type: Product & Graphic Design Packaging and Identity Designer: Yves Behar The NYC Condom is an initiative of the NYC department of Health: the free distribution of condoms is an effective measure against HIV infections and unwanted pregnancies. The dispenser is the primary distribution system for the New York City free condom program, distributed and placed around the city beginning Valentine’s Day, 2008. By creating a visually iconic relationship between the NYC Condom and Dispenser, we helped the city of New York achieve two main goals: raising citizen’s awareness of the condoms and driving dispenser adoption by businesses. Visually and graphically, the purpose of the NYC Condom initiative is to lessen the negative atmosphere surrounding condom distribution by creating a branded identity that conveys the bold, friendly sophistication of New Yorkers.
