Steve Prastka, Design Director, Capsule Urn & Managing Partner, Fluent Strategy, LLC

Steve is a seasoned, award-winning Industrial Designer with over 18 years of product development background in both tier one consultancy firms and corporate design group settings. His work spans a variety of industries including consumer electronics, sports and recreation, medical, and high-technology computing markets.

As a specialist in turnkey product development, Steve has deep and proven ability to execute in all phases of the design process—from design research to CAD documentation and production implementation. His approach to leading design research and concept development is grounded in Design Thinking, multi-disciplinary collaborations, and rapid visualization techniques. As a Senior Design Leader at Intel, he played a key role in the growth of the company’s User-Centered Design Group and promoting the practice and application of user-centered design principles. While at Intel, he led collaborative design programs with Philips, HP, Onkyo, Gateway, and many others. Prior to Intel, Steve had design collaborations with various design firms including Compass Product Design and SoMA. His work with those firms involved designs for client companies including: Nike, Rio, and Xerox.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Western Washington University, and is an active volunteer with the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), SparkAwards, and other Design organizations.
